MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Real Estate Sales Associate Robert Northfield of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Maplewood has been recognized as one of the nation’s most successful real estate agents in the Wall Street Journal/Real Trends 2013 Top 1,000 report.
Northfield closed approximately $54.7 million in sales with 92 transactions in 2012, which put him at #7 in volume and #10 in transactions in the state of New Jersey, and the highest among Maplewood and South Orange-based agents.
“To be recognized like this makes me very proud and also appreciative to my office, my team and my clients for their support,” Northfield said.
He attributes much of his success to focusing on the fundamentals.
“I am a hard worker and a problem-solver,” he said. “I care about my clients and their needs. If I didn’t, I would not still be here as a top agent in a service business for 15 plus years.”
Northfield notes that the strength of his team contributes greatly to his success, and thanks Stacy Levy, Jill Sockwell, Mark Braverman and Laurie Joffe.
Northfield said he does approximately 70% of his business in Maplewood and South Orange and sees positive change in the towns. He cites the improvement in school rankings and the vitality of the two towns’ downtown areas as examples of why home values are strong.
“There is always something to do in these towns,” he said. “ And this market is so welcoming to everyone.”
Real estate market activity has been brisk, with sellers seeing strong interest and in many cases multiple offers on their homes, according to Northfield. The market had been slowed by the storm, but has come roaring back with an improvement in people’s attitudes and readiness to buy.
